The Rev. Canon José A. McLoughlin is bishop-elect to the Diocese of Western North Carolina

DiocesanSealColor2_webIn an election requiring 4 ballots José McLoughlin finally received the votes necessary to win the election. Currently the bishop-elect is the Canon to the Ordinary in the Diocese of Oklahoma. He needed 69 clergy votes and 65 lay votes to be elected. In the 4th ballot he received 69 clergy votes and 86 lay votes. Should he receive the required consents the Dio WNC is planning that his ordination and consecration as a bishop in the Church of God will take place on 1 OCT. The Revd McLoughlin will be the seventh bishop ordinary to the diocese.
