The Work of our Hands

The Work of our Hands

My hands –

reach

carry

embrace

fix

clean

cook

drive

push

create

paint

hug

pick up

feed

write

color

bless.

My hands –

cling to the One

who first reached out to me

declaring all of creation

good and holy,

a work of art.

Take some time today to look at your hands. See the work they do. Feel the shape and contours of your hands. Hold them open. Give thanks. And then lift them up to the One who is holding you.
