Thursday reflections

“I do not occupy myself with great matters,

or with things that are too hard for me.

But I still my soul and make it quiet,

like a child upon its mother’s breast;

my soul is quieted within me.” Psalm 131 v. 2,3

Frantically

searching for solutions

to unsolvable problems,

Busy chasing after illusion,

Oh, that I WOULD gather

up the scattered fragments

and return to the center.

“Balak has brought me from Aram,

the king of Moab from the eastern mountains:

‘Come, curse Jacob for me;

Come, denounce Israel!’

How can I curse whom God has not cursed?

How can I denounce those whom the LORD has not denounced?

Numbers 23:7b-8

God of curses

God of blessing

Who calls to me this day?

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For

the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. Romans 8:1-2

Prisoners released

circle of condemnation

is broken.

“‘Go therefore into the main streets, and invite everyone you find to the

wedding banquet.’ Those slaves went out into the streets and gathered all

whom they found, both good and bad; so the wedding hall was filled with

guests.” Matthew 22:1-14

What a party!!

everyone

invited

good and bad

sit at the table

eat cake

drink wine

fill the room

with songs

all are in

or all are out

no half-hearted

invitations

here.
