Two Episcopal churches bring vaccinations to the people

Two Episcopal churches are in the news for providing venues for Covid vaccinations — Iglesia Episcopal Jesús de Nazaret (in Orlando) and Calvary Episcopal (in Memphis).

Orlando Church Reaches Out To Those Who May Be Vaccine Hesitant – NPR: Father Jose Rodriguez of Iglesia Episcopal Jesús de Nazaret is interviewed about his church’s efforts to reach the vaccine-hesitant in the Spanish-speaking community — the vaccination opportunities his church provides, and his words of encouragement for getting the vaccine.

“We see about 150 men every single Sunday,” Christine Todd, Calvary Dir. of Community Ministries, said. “So it’s only fitting this has become a sorta one stop shop. Racks of clothes, shoes, and don’t forget the toiletries. It’s all available to those in need.”

But now Calvary Episcopal is offering more. With the help of Memphis Fire, vaccine shots are available along with help to fill out documents.
