Canadian laywoman appointed to two Anglican Communion bodies

Dr. Eileen Scully has been appointed Chair of International Anglican Liturgical Consultation.

The Anglican Journal reports:

“Ms. Scully is the first woman as well as the first lay person to hold this position.

In addition, Ms. Scully has been appointed to a small working group on the proposed Anglican Covenant. The group was appointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Previously, Ms. Scully served on the Inter-Anglican Theological and Doctrinal Commission (IATDC) charged with finding ways to maintain unity. She said she is ‘incredibly honoured.’”
