Meghan Markle, American actress and fiancée of Britain’s Prince Harry was baptized and confirmed earlier this week at St James Palace by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
The service was not announced beforehand and was a private family affair, according to the Daily Mail. Queen Elizabeth was not present according to that report, though Harry’s father, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla were.
When asked for a statement, Prince Harry’s spokesperson said they weren’t offering any comments on the service.
The Royal-couple-to-be’s wedding is scheduled for May 19 at Windsor Castle, with the exchange of vows to be presided over by Archbishop Welby, though the Dean of Windsor, Bishop David John Conner, will be leading the service overall.
In Britain, the couple are very popular, and many spectators turned out this week as they visited Birmingham Thursday as part of their pre-wedding tour of Great Britain.
