Bishop Jon Bruno, bishop diocesan to the See of Los Angeles, faces Title IV hearing this coming week

The final stage of the disciplinary process of the Episcopal Church against the Rt Revd Jon Bruno, bishop diocesan of the Diocese of Los Angeles, begins this Tuesday, 28 MAR. The hearing runs through Wednesday & Thursday. The hearing is regarding charges of misconduct, brought against Bishop Bruno by the members of the former mission church, St James the Great in Newport Beach.

What is institutionalized homophobia?

Jayne Ozanne, an Evangelical Anglican in the Church of England (CoE), tackles the topic of institutionalized homophobia as she experiences it in the CoE. Jayne has been active in leadership positions in the CoE for a few decades. She was a founding member of the Archbishops’ Council on which she served from 1999 until 2004. She came out as a lesbian in FEB 2015 after trying to “pray away the gay” for a number of years, including two attempts to end her own life. Today she is again a member of the CoE General Synod and one of the chief campaigners for LGBTQ rights/rites in the CoE.

Designing Lambeth Conference 2020

This past week the Lambeth Conference Design Group has been meeting for the first time. Two things have been set. The 2020 Conference will be during July of 2020 in Canterbury England. The theme of the Conference will be “God’s Church for God’s world.”

Another Anglican first in Rome

Anglican Choral Evensong was held in St Peters Basilica last Monday night with music from the choir of Merton College, Oxford. The service was led by Archbishop David Moxon, the director of the Anglican Center in Rome and the Archbishop of Canterbury’s representative to the Holy See.
