St. Paul’s told London police to remove Occupy protesters

The cathedral has denied that they gave the police permission to remove Christians who were dragged from the steps as they knelt in prayer during the eviction of the Occupy camp on 28 February [but] Adrian Leppard,the City of London Police Commissioner, has stated in a letter to London Assembly member Jenny Jones: “Permission was given by St Paul’s to clear the steps”.

Hidden exodus: RC becoming protestant

The principal reasons given by people who leave the church to become Protestant are that their “spiritual needs were not being met” in the Catholic church (71 percent) and they “found a religion they like more” (70 percent). Eighty-one percent of respondents say they joined their new church because they enjoy the religious service and style of worship of their new faith.

Church of England bishops must be equal

If the House of Bishops can’t bring itself to wholeheartedly endorse women’s ordination, I think I will feel I have to vote against the measure at final approval, rather than vote for enshrining theological incoherence and gender discrimination in canon law.
