Episcopal Cafe 2012: Second quarter highlights

Our most popular story in April ran on the first day of that month and concerned a local church procession that ended in chaos.

May brought the horrifying murders of the Rev. Dr. Mary-Marguerite Kohn and administrative assistant Brenda Brewington at St. Peter’s Church, Ellicott Mills in Ellicott City, Md. They were killed by Douglas Franklin Jones, a homeless man who often visited the church’s food pantry. Let us continue to remember the parish in our prayers.

Our top story in June was a link to a blog post by Katie Sherrod, an executive council member who gave readers a sense of the difficult emotional climate in which the 2013-15 budget of the Episcopal Church was formulated and reformulated. It is still well worth reading.
