As reported at Episcopal News Service, Integrity, the organization dedicated to inclusion of LGBTQ persons into the full life of the Episcopal Church has elected Matt Haines to be their new President, filling the vacancy left by the departure of the Rev Dr Caro Hall.
Haines will guide Integrity as it celebrates its 40th anniversary year, leading into the 78th General Convention of the Episcopal Church to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah June 25-July 3, 2015. Prior to this position, he held the title of Vice President of Local Affairs for Integrity USA.
At Integrity’s website, Haines has called upon Integrity to renew itself along with being engaged with the mission of renewal of the wider Episcopal Church.
Our renewal will not replace our other efforts; only enhance them. We will still bring solace to those rejected by Church, society and family. These people will bring us a new look at God’s diversity as we meet people we would not normally seek out.
