Tears To Shed

Franciscan Prayer of Blessing: “May God bless us with tears to shed for those who suffer, so that we will reach out our hands to comfort them and change their pain to joy.”

This prayer is taped on my laptop. It reminds me that being sad is okay especially when it is about seeing street people who are cold. I saw one man who was hanging around the café and I invited him in for a coffee and corndog. It was all the money I had. He was so thankful to get out of the cold. Those of us who live at our uncle’s house have decided to put some loose change in a jar that we can use on weekends to help those who are without a house. It’s not enough, I know, but we have to start somewhere.
