Working together in Ghana

The Episcopal Church, Archbishop of Canterbury and The Anglican Diocese of Ghana work together to build a hostel to accomodate pilgrims to the Retreat Center at Accra and serve as a counseling center.

A report from Ghana:

The Anglican Diocese of Accra is to construct a 3.8 million-dollar hostel to help accommodate pilgrims to the Retreat Centre at Ashaley Botwe in Accra.

The 250-room hostel would be sponsored by the Youth wing of the Church in Accra with support from the Episcopal Church of USA and the Archbishop of Canterbury, United Kingdom.

Mr Ato Ampiah, Chairman, Anglican Retreat Centre Project Committee, announced this on Saturday during a fund raising sponsored walk organised by the Anglican Youth Diocese of Accra.

Mr Ampiah said the church had generated ¢2.8 billion internally to help with the project and that the Centre would also accommodate other denominations of the Christian Faith.

Mr Ampiah said the place would also serve as a counselling Centre for Anglicans and commended the youth wing of the church for organising the walk.
