Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has released a video message for World Refugee Day, highlighting the work of Episcopal Migration Ministries.

“Our work with and for refugees began when we began to follow Jesus, to follow His way and His teachings. It is because we are followers of Jesus, because we follow the way of love, because we follow the way of compassion, because we follow the way of human decency and kindness that we must be passionately committed to helping the refugees and displaced persons of this day,” Curry offers in his video message.
Last night, Bishop Curry appeared again on MSNBC, alongside Fr James Martin of America Magazine on The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, discussing the government policy of separating children and families at the border, and attempts to justify it using the bible.
“Separating children from their parents is not loving your neighbor,” Curry said. When asked about Attorney General Sessions’ use of Romans 13 to justify this policy, he responded, “It’s immoral, and it’s wrong, and it’s a misuse of religion.”
