Wounded Bird on hiatus

June Butler, aka Grandmère Mimi, who keeps the blog “Wounded Bird” is taking a well-earned rest. After three years of nearly continuous blogging, theological reflection, and commentary, she has decided to go “cold turkey” and come back sometime in the future on a less frequent basis.

She writes:

The Wounded Bird is tired…and will take a break from blogging. I’m burnt out, and, since I can’t discipline myself to blog in moderation, going off cold turkey seems to be the only way I can have a rest. Wounded Bird will stay as it is, with comments open, and, after a break of an indeterminate period of time, I may have something to say. I’ll post at Facebook when I’ve written something new. However, my posts will very likely be much less frequent in the future.

For over three years, I’ve blogged nearly every day, except when I’ve been traveling. Until now, I’ve enjoyed myself, and when blogging came to seem more like a chore, than fun, I thought it best to bow out for a spell.

Thank you all who have visited over the years. A special thank you to those who took the time to leave comments. You provided me with much of my energy. Through the world of blogs, I’ve made fantastic friends in real life and virtually through the intertubes.

Grandmère Mimi is a good friend and companion. We at the Cafe appreciate her work. Blogging is hard work, especially at the volumes and quality that she has so far produced. We wish her well and pray that her hiatus will be spiritually refreshing. Grandmère won’t say good-bye, so neither will we. We do hope and pray that she discovers a new pattern of writing that will at once be enjoyable to her and edifying to the Church.
