Spanish artist Okuda (Oscar) San Miguel has painted the inside of an abandoned church, St Barbara’s, in Llanera, a town in the Spanish principality of Asturias in Northern Spain. The murals adorn the conversion of the church, that has been unused for the past 10 years, into a skateboard park.

Last SEP I wrote about the new community sponsored by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Community of St Anselm. The members of the community are now going on three and a half months of life together. The Prior of the Community has announced that he is now accepting applications for the second year of community members.

The Rt Revd David Walker is the Bishop Diocesan of Manchester in the Church of England. He recently conducted some research into why folks were attending church services. He enlisted the help of folks at Worcester and Lichfield Cathedrals and was able to survey 1150 people attending services.

Design firm selected for new Lambeth Palace Library

The Lambeth Palace Library was established in 1610, the first public library in England. It is second to the Vatican Library in its size and importance as a collection of historic religious works of art and documents. The decision has been taken by the Church Commissioners of England to build a new library and pull the entire collect safe and sound under one roof.

What was once lost has been found

One of the “Lost Boys” has become an Episcopal deacon in Utah. The “Lost Boys” were orphaned children who had fled the Sudanese Civil War in the late 1980s. On 5 DEC, the Rt Revd Scott Hayashi, the Bishop of Utah, ordained Gabriel Garang Atem a deacon.
