A Psalm of Thanks for the School Year (Based on Psalm 150)
“Praise God with fidgety hands and wiggly bodies
praise God with feet pumping through the air on swings
praise God with clapping hands and tapping feet….”
“Praise God with fidgety hands and wiggly bodies
praise God with feet pumping through the air on swings
praise God with clapping hands and tapping feet….”
“This prayer goes with you wherever you will go
and will continue to cheer you on
reminding you that you have been prepared for such a time as this…”
“May you be gentle with the world
celebrate the consistency in the changing of seasons
listen for the sounds of spring’s renewal
splash in a river’s water
and lean into the One who walks with you.”
“…eventually arriving home again, but with new eyes to see.”
“Teach me patience, Lord,
as the sun and the water nourish the ground
as the roots take hold in the darkness.”
“When you pray, move your feet.
One foot after another
meeting fellow pilgrims, journeying together.”
“But it’s never just bread, wine, and water.
With each bite of bread, sip of wine, and splash of water, we are reminded that God comes to us in the most intimate, personal, and tangible ways.”
“Guide us to the cross,
to sit in the darkness,
to cry out in pain.
Let us not shield our hearts from the brokenness.
Train our eyes to see in the dark.”
“Listen, listen
open your arms
extend your hands
feel the gifts of this moment
new life all around”
